Rehearsal schedules will be established at the start of each term, in late August and early January. In general, rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening from late August to May, with holiday breaks. Dress rehearsals, as needed, are scheduled in advance, often on the Thursday evening preceding a performance. The artistic director may suspend or reschedule rehearsals for weather or other circumstances requiring a change. Changes will be announced in rehearsal and on the website. In the event of an emergency change (snow day, for instance) we will make our best effort to notify the membership, and the change will at least be announced on the website.

Over the course of one term (half-season, semester) Chorale members are permitted a maximum of two (2) absences from ordinary rehearsals. After the third missed rehearsal within a single term, a member normally may not perform in any subsequent concert that takes place during that term. Section stewards may construe substantially late arrivals and early departures from rehearsal as absences.

In the case of extenuating circumstances, and where additional absences are justified, a member wishing to perform in concert in spite of three or more ordinary missed rehearsals must ask his/her Section Steward for an Appeal Board hearing. The Section Steward will arrange for this hearing. Decision of the Appeal Board will be final.

Attendance at Dress Rehearsal is mandatory in order to perform in concert. No member who misses a Dress Rehearsal may sing in performance.
