"Seascape with Sharks and Dancer", set in a beach bungalow, is a fine play by an author of great talent. As the story opens, Ben (Marty Lindsey) has pulled Tracey (Sabra Malkinson) out of the sea. Soon she finds herself enmeshed in his world -- and torn between her need to come to rest somewhere and her fear that all her relationships will end badly. IT'S A LOVE STORY!
This is Rowan's second production for Director's Theatre. Last year he directed the critically acclaimed production of "The Old Boy", by A.R. Gurney for us. Rowan has won two prestigious Denver Drama Critic's Circle Awards, as well as numerous other nominations and awards from other publications in Colorado.
Director's Theatre is founded on the principle that the director is the most important element in the production of a play — the person who must take responsibility for the success or failure of any production. Audiences seem to support our aesthetic too, and to date, after only seven main stage productions and four special events in the last year-and-a-half, Director's theatre has grown to more than 250 season subscribers.
