Guest Edberg
is a violinist and violist who moves freely from the world of
academia to performance, from modern playing to early music, and
from orchestral playing to chamber music. She is a founding
member of Olde Friends and appeared with them this past season
at the Boulder Bach Festival, on the Columbus Early Music
Series, and on the DePauw University Artist Series. Edberg has
toured the country and recorded on the Electra CD label with
Apollo's Fire (the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra). A featured
soloist in Bach's Fifth Brandenburg Concerto with the
Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra she has served as concertmaster
for that ensemble. Edberg has performed with the Washington
Bach Consort, the Chisti Chamber Players, Ensemble Ouabache,
Chatham Baroque and Les Cordes du Roy. She was a guest performer
this past May at the Bloomington Early Music Festival and this
past summer at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Having
served previously as violin professor at Ohio State University
and Lawrence University, she is now Assistant Professor of Viola
at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Ms. Edberg is
currently enrolled in the Early Music Institute at Indiana
University.
