TeraFriend and MegaFriend Sponsorship Guidelines

• These guidelines are provided for guidance only. BCN retains the right to approve or disapprove any Sponsorship Identification or to protect its reputation.

• BCN may from time to time amend these guidelines, in its sole discretion, to provide additional guidance regarding Sponsorship Identification.

• Sponsorship Identifications (including audio, text and graphical material) ("Sponsorship Identification") on the Service must in all cases be consistent with BCN's non-commercial, non-profit nature and BCN's public and educational mission.

• Sponsorship Identifications must not be of a nature that will tend to jeopardize BCN's pre-existing sources for funding for its public service and other activities.

• Sponsorship from makers of certain products such as tobacco may not be accepted, although sponsorship from subsidiaries or other affiliated entities may be considered where the entity manufactures unobjectionable goods. Sponsorship identification related to alcoholic beverages may in some cases be accepted, but should, in all cases, be specifically cleared by the BCN board in advance of their placement on the Service.

• BCN reserves the right to request suitable substantiation of claims as a condition of accepting sponsorship. BCN further retains the right to refuse Sponsorship identification containing unsubstantiated claims, goods or services (unless embodied in in a bona fide corporate slogan); and positive results derived through use of the product or service.

• Sponsorship; Identifications of a sexual nature or promoting or marketing sexually oriented materials, services or products may not be accepted.

• Sponsorship Identifications that embody, reflect, imply or otherwise create an appearance of an endorsement of a particular political body or candidate will not be accepted. Sponsorship Identifications that reflect, imply, or express a viewpoint on controversial issues of public importance or interest may not be accepted.

• Each sponsor will provide art work sized according to BCN's requirements.

• Sponsor will abide by BCN gif size requirements, to be determined on a case-by-case basis.

  How to put BCN to work for you

  Your sponsorship can help provide important information and reinforce a positive image for your organization with visitors to BCN. In establishing credit guidelines, BCN has endeavored to be sensitive to the expectations of the public media audience, as well as to remain faithful to the community networking goal to provide educational, cultural, and informational local information services independent of commercial obligations or influence. The following are guidelines and procedures for acknowledging financial and/or in-kind support (The Federal Communications Commission).

  Principles

• Funds may be accepted from any source; however, BCN reserves the right to turn down funding if there is any conflict of interest or possible perception of influence on program content.

• A sponsor is identified by mention of the legal or recognized logo of the sponsor in the "Friends of BCN" banner carried on the BCN home page. In addition, sponsors may request the inclusion of the their logo on one BCN information center sponsors banner.

• Acknowledgement should not interrupt the continuity of the information or detract from the content or quality of the information with which they are associated.

• All content and editorial decisions related to distribution of BCN information are the sole responsibility of BCN.
