SILENT AUCTION
Thursday, April 12, 2012
7-9 p.m.
Boulder
Senior Center (909 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO -- 9th and Arapahoe,
northeast corner --
enter the parking lot west of the Boulder Public Library)
Come to buy, come to sell, come to schmooze and
snack.
Food, fun, competition, commerce, and rocks—who
could ask for more?
Sellers' forms
are available in Flatirons Facets, at meetings, and will be sent to area clubs.
The
time has come, folks, for our semiannual silent auction, so gather round for
another exciting time. Bring your items for sale to the West Side Senior center
at 7 p.m. So please search your basement and garage for appropriate items—we
need more! Specimens, fossils, books, videos, tools, software, beads, and
jewelry—anything you think might attract buyers at a silent auction for rockhounds and lapidarists.
Please note: It is not necessary to sign up in advance to sell items at
the auction.
There will be a limited number
of tables so space will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
Sellers are asked to limit their items to about 1/4th of a table.
We are in need of volunteers to
help at the Silent Auction. We need people to:
- bring the closed tables to
the stage and lift them up on the stage
- unload the tables on the
stage
- take care of the Last Chance
table
- move materials between the
stage and the Last Chance table on a hand cart
- manage
the sign-in table at the door
- check out people and their
purchases at the end of the auction (see Gerry
Naugle)
Our Silent Auctions have always
been very popular and we expect that this one will be no exception. There is
always a good variety of items to buy. So bring your rock related items to
sell, and be sure to bring plenty of money to cover those treasures that you
are sure to find.
See you at the auction!
