• Students of St. Vrain District High Schools
• Students of Private Schools in the region defined by the St. Vrain District
• Home schooled student who would be attending the schools above if they were not home schooled within the St. Vrain District Boundaries.
• Members of the Longmont American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or the Sons of the American Legion and their families

•    The winner will initially receive -
•  A Certificate and Letter of Appreciation signed by the Department Commander
•  A Savings Bond for $250.
•  The original artwork for the pin will be raffled during the Convention. The winner will receive 50% of the receipts of this raffle.

•  The design must include the American Legion symbol (copies of this are attached and are also available at the Post web site - www.longmontlegion.org).
•  Design should take into account that the artwork will be reduced to a pin approximately 1" in diameter.

• Submissions must include the following:
•  Original artwork no larger than 8"x11". DO NOT PLACE YOUR NAME ON THE ARTWORK.
•  A cover letter with the artist's name, school (or that student is home schooled), address and phone number and the following statement -

"This is my own original work and does not reflect assistance from others. With the exception of The American Legion emblem, the art submitted has not been copyrighted nor reproduced anywhere else. I understand that I will be disqualified if this statement is found not to be true. I agree to turn over all rights to the artwork to The American Legion, Department of Colorado."

•  Judging will be announced o/a 15 March 2000. The judging committee will consist of the Commander of the Longmont American Legion Post; the President of the Legion Auxiliary, the Commander of the Sons of the American Legion, and the co-chairmen of the Convention 2000 Committee.
