ECONOMICS OF AGING INTEREST GROUP NEWSLETTER, Fall 1994
EOA AND INTERNET
Richard V. Burkhauser Chair, EoA
Center for Policy Research
The Maxwell School
Syracuse University
EoA is moving onto the information superhighway by
introducing an electronic mailing list called AGING, based at
Syracuse University. We're doing this to disseminate news about
research and publications in the field more rapidly and more
inexpensively. EoA doesn't collect dues from its members or
charge for subscriptions to its newsletter. The newsletter is
published and distributed by mail twice a year thanks to generous
subsidies from GSA and other organizations. We think we can do
our job better, and more successfully meet the goals of EoA, if
we supplement the hard copy newsletter with an electronic
exchange medium. Currently, the list is open to the public and
unmoderated, though as the volume of messages increases this may
change.
If you are interested in subscribing to the AGING list, send
a message to LISTSERV@SUVM.SYR.EDU. Leave the *subject* line
blank. Your message is the following command: SUB AGING
fullname, where fullname is your name, e.g., Richard V.
Burkhauser. If your message contains a signature you may receive
some error messages when LISTSERV tries to interpret your
signature as LISTSERV commands, but the subscription message will
be properly executed.
To post to the list, send mail to AGING@SUVM.SYR.EDU.
