KEI IZAWA
Kei Izawa comes with a track record of cracking the Japanese market with
Opel cars(General Motors German subsidiary). Izawa's career started in
JETRO, a governmental organization promoting trade from 1973 to 1983 and
later with 14 years in General Motors working in Detroit, UK, Tokyo and
Germany (his last position as European Regional Sales Director for
commercial vehicles). While in Opel Japan, Izawa made full use of the
internet activities. He created a new marketing approach that has become
part of his focused strategy to crack the Japanese market. Opel Japan became
the first automotive company in the world to offer an official internet home
page in 1994 but also grew close to 30 times in volume to become one of the
leading import makes in Japan in just 3 years. (Izawa has been featured in
Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Automotive News to name a few
publications). Izawa is the president of Izawa & Associates based in
Boulder. He is helping American firms that are trying to enter into the
Japanese market.
