John and Yayoi Shaw


John & Yayoi Shaw started, own and operate Making Ends Meet Company of Boulder Colorado. Making Ends Meet Company was started January 1, 1998 and now serves the biculturally adventuresome in 4 ways: as Japanese Market Liaisons and Communication Facilitators, Tour Operators for Japanese, Bilingual Internet Marketers and Travel Agents.

Yayoi is a native of Osaka, Japan. She graduated Osaka Shoin Womens College before working with Daido in the Key-Man Insurance Sales and Account Maintenance Department. In 1994 she and John moved to the USA together to persue their dream of Making Ends Meet Company. In 1997, after living in Ithaca, NY and Cape Cod, MA, she and John moved to Colorado and completed travel school together. Yayoi is the General Manager and co-owner of Making Ends Meet Company.

John, a native of Batavia, NY, is a graduate of The University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business, The National Outdoor Leadership School, The Institute of Shipboard Education's Semester at Sea, Cornell University's Falcon Program and The Boulder Chamber of Commerce's Fast-Trac Program. In 1992 John moved to Japan for 3 years where he worked as Head Teacher, Teacher-Trainer and Assistant to the Promotions Director at Acedemia Language Institute in Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto and Fukuoka. In addition to his duties at Making Ends Meet Company John volunteers at the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center and takes part in The Rocky Mountain Hockey League, Boulder Grass Roots Ultimate Frisbee and, along with Yayoi, Boulder's Recreational Softball League.

Making Ends Meet Company is a member of The Boulder Chamber of Commerce, The American Rockies International, The International Association of Travel Agents, The Japanese America Society of Colorado and The Boulder-Yamagata Friendship Committee.
