Call for Annual Dues
This is a call for annual dues. The fee is $15.00 per year for
individuals and $25.00 per year for families. These dues are the
only source of revenue for the Committe. We currently have about
$300.00 in the bank. Small amounts have been spent here and there for
(mandatory) gifts. Our intention is to try to build a bit more of a
cushion before we open our coffers for other uses.
Although we receive moral support from the City of Boulder, the City
provides no financial support for the Committee. This may be because some
of the other Sister-Cities have extensive social needs and the City is
concerned that if a precedent of support is allowed, it may be difficult
to stem the tide.
Please send your check to BYFC, attention Yoko Tamaki-Brandt, 3355 15th
Street, Boulder, 80304, or bring it to the meeting on May 17.
These are the reasons why you should be a member of this friendship
committee:
- You will continue to receive our newsletter and remain informed about
the exciting stream of activities we sponsor.
- You will be informed about opportunities for unbelievable trips to
Japan. As Sister-City delegation members, we are welcomed in homestays
and "styled-out" as only the Japanese can do it.
- You will be informed about opportunities to welcome visitors from
Yamagata to Boulder. We have hosted Taiko drummers, policement and have
exciting plans for the future.
- You will be supporting friendship at a time when Japan may be
entering an economic crisis.
- Finally, and perhaps the most important, you have the opportunity to
lead an activity with our Sister-City, of your
own choosing.
