This site is under construction as of January 1996, but its mission is to develop a webpage which will serve as a forum for inhabitants of the Boulder Creek Watershed and beyond to discuss and share information and opinions about the wonders and woe of this wonderous region that stretches from the Continental Divide eastward to the fields and grasslands of the plains.

One of our goals is to create a watershed telecommunity linking a wide variety of agencies, educational institutions and various enthusiasts who are involved in or interested in developing a deeper sense of place in the watershed.

Among the agencies we would seek participation in this project are: the USGS, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Forest Service, BLM and National Parks as well as the State Water Conservation Board and Water District, the County of Boulder and all municipal governances within the drainage. Schools would include Colorado University at Boulder, the Naropa Institute (whose graduate students in Environmental Leadership are working on an Atlas of the Boulder Creek Watershed), Front Range Community College as well as Boulder Valley Schools and the private schools in the region

One of the key questions many people ask is "what is a watershed?" and then "why is it important?" These are questions to which there are no simple answers. We would invite participation in the discussion group (see BCWatershed List information below) or comments on the merit and potential for such an effort.
