WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE:
The "Chinook Clubhouse" is a vocational and social rehabilitation program for adults with a history of mental illness. Services include:
The Work Adjustment Training shop ("WATshop") employs persons with mental illness. It is operated as a business, doing mail preparation, packaging, and assembly services for Boulder County businesses. Services include:
Work schedules vary depending on the individual's tolerance for work.
DO I QUALIFY FOR HELP:
Persons in treatment with the MHCBC who have a major mental illness which has prevented them from being able to function in a work environment. Note: "Chinook Clubhouse" also accepts persons not in treatment with the Mental Health Center but who have major mental illnesses, and are residents of Boulder County.
WHO DO I CONTACT:
For the"Chinook Clubhouse" come in or call M-F between 9:a.m. - 3:p.m. to arrange for an intake interview. "WATshop" clients must be referred by a Mental Health Center therapist.
HOW DOES IT WORK:
"Chinook Clubhouse" - Verification of a mental illness diagnosis and orientation to services followed by choice of a work unit and establishment of goals. Community based job placement assistance commences when an individual is interested and ready.
"WATshop" - There is usually a waiting list of up to three months. The referring therapist and "WATshop" staff conduct an orientation interview. Goals are established and the client begins work. Average length of employment is 4-6 months.
WHAT ARE MY CHANCES FOR SUCCESS:
The Clubhouse has an average of 110 active members and a daily attendance of 40. Approximately 10% of our membership become employed in a full time job in Boulder.HOW MUCH DOES IT COST:
There are no fees to the client.
