We also raised money for our effort to make Park Hill a national historic district.

WYCYC - Wyoming Cycling Celebration explores the high Rocky Mountains, open desert, deep river gorges and farmlands of the cowboy state.
Meeting in Jackson Hole, the route sets off north along the edge of Grand Teton Park, before swinging east through Buffalo Valley and across the Gros Ventre Mountains. Pedal through the multi-colored rock of the Dubois Badlands, then across the lavendar fields of the Missouri Valley to Riverton. The deep Wind River Canyon leads riders north through strata dating back to prehistoric times with well sign posted palentology exhibits, to a relaxing evening at Thermopolis Hot Springs. The last couple of days take you further north through the rich farmlands of the Bighorn River Valley then up, high atop the Bighorn Mountains.
Or discover fall in the cowboy state, as WYCYC Fall Roundup heads out September 16 - 21, 2002, following the same scenic route through the best that Wyoming offers, but bedding down in quiet motels to enjoy the crisp evening temperatures.

The Denver-Aspen Classic website (www.denver-aspen.com) you are accustomed to perusing is no longer available. After running the Denver-Aspen Classic and its website for the last three years, Mike Kosel resigned in late November. The site itself expired December 1.
Mike did an excellent job with the Denver-Aspen Classic. The ride was efficiently organized, modestly profitable, and popular. Mike did this demanding job with little reward except for the knowledge of a job well done. Besides running the Denver-Aspen Classic, Mike also lead many of the weekend rides. Mike's wife, Penny, was also the editor of Chain Chatter this past year. Thank you, Mike and Penny.
At the December club meeting the board decided to run the Denver-Aspen Classic as a 300 kilometer brevet. As such the ride will be a timed event with check points. Membership will be required, but no fees will be required. In true randonneur fashion the ride will be self-supporting, that is, each rider will be responsible for his/her own food, water, and other necessities. Personal support vehicles are allowed only at the check points.
The Joe Lookingbill Denver-Aspen 300 Kilometer Brevet will require pre-registration by July 15. Check the RMCC Challenge Series 2003 card or call Charlie Henderson at 303.972.8733. The meet time is 3:00 am August 2, 2003 at the Littleton Mineral and Santa Fe Park and Ride for a 4:00 am start.
