If you've dreamed of challenging professional cyclists on a demanding course, the 2008 Fort Collins Cycling Festival is the place to do it. Cyclists of all abilities will have an opportunity to challenge Rist Canyon, pitting their times against the pros during one great weekend of cycling, June 20-22.
In the Citizens Rist Canyon Road Ride, participants can ride Saturday or Sunday or try their hand at both days by entering the Citizens King of Rist Canyon challenge. Riders hit the pavement on Saturday following the same course as the pros, along 70 miles and 6,000 feet of climbing, and then meander through scenic Buckhorn Canyon, before returning to Fort Collins.
Then on Sunday, riders embark on a challenging 18.5 mile, fully-supported, timed ride to the top of Fort Collins' scenic Rist Canyon -- the same route the pros will tackle during the weekend's ACA Road Racing Championship and featuring grades up to 15 percent and another 4,000 feet of climbing!
The Citizens Road Ride and the King of Rist Canyon Challenge are two of the many events during the Fort Collins Cycling Festival, a truly community event featuring the area's best cyclists, live music, great food, gear, and bicycling events for all levels of riders. Join Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, along with 1000 cyclists in celebrating this bicycle tour of Colorado's Wine Country. The Urban Assault Race is a combination of an Adventure Race, Scavenger Hunt and Bike Race. For the past 2 years, the event has been the biggest adventure race in the country! Sweet!
Teams of 2 race through the city to reach checkpoints where they perform fun physical and mental challenges. Racers can be ages 7 100 (anybody can do it!).
Checkpoints are listed on the website before the race and racers pick their own course to the checkpoints, which can be reached in any order. The first team to complete all the checkpoint challenges and return to Start/Finish wins the race! Then the party begins!
The standard race distance is approximately 20 miles and includes up to 10 checkpoints plus the final challenge at the finish. The Family Division is for kids (ages 7-12) and their parents/guardians. The family division will hit 5 checkpoints and ride around 10 miles.
Chairman of the 2008 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah Presented by Zions Bank, Greg Miller of the Larry H. Miller Group, announced that the bike race, whose fourth edition was cancelled earlier this year, is back on for 2008. Miller also announced that veteran Utah bike racer, coach and cycling advocate, Terry McGinnis, is on board as the Tour's Executive Director. Billed as "America's toughest stage race," the 2008 Tour of Utah will feature more climbing than any other bicycle stage race in the United States: 342 horizontal miles and 30,000 feet of climbing in five days. Dates for the event will be August 13 through August 17th, 2008.
For the second consecutive year, the biggest names in professional mountain bike racing will storm into Beaver Creek Resort in Beaver Creek, Colo., over Labor Day Weekend with the sport's biggest prize on the line. And if last year's grand finale of the Jeep King of the Mountain - Mountain Biking World Professional Championships was any indication, this year's sequel should be one for the ages.
The Jeep King of the Mountain 2007 Mountain Biking World Professional Championships, taking place on Saturday, September 1, features 16 of the world's top racers battling shoulder to shoulder in mountain-cross format down a Y-Cross racecourse filled with banked turns, tabletops, step-down jumps, rollers and other elements requiring equal parts skill, speed and guts. At stake is the coveted crown of World Professional Champion, as well as the keys to a new 2008 Jeep Liberty and a lion's share of the record $100.000 cash payout.
The event, which begins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, has been timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Beaver Creek's legendary Oktoberfest celebration. As a result, cycling fans and casual observers alike can take in world-class racing while also taking part in the first annual Oktoberfest Shuffle and enjoying Bavarian cuisine, beer, costume and Alpenhorn contests, kid's activities and a live band from Austria.

The beautiful century route goes North to Leadville, along the scenic rolling hills of Turquoise Lake Road, around the Mineral Belt Trail passing aspen groves and conifer forests, meandering through the historic Leadville Mining District, and back to Buena Vista in the shadows of Colorados highest mountain peaks. Nearly all of the climbing is completed over the first 60 miles of the ride, with the last 40 miles essentially downhill to flat! Riders also have options to take shorter routes including a 40 miler, a 50 miler, and a metric century (62 miles) while still enjoying the Collegiate Peaks magnificent scenery.
The 2008 Ride The Rockies is scheduled for Sunday, June 15 through Saturday, June 21. The route will be announced and registration will open on Sunday, February 3rd.
The Denver Post Ride The Rockies is an annual bicycle tour that takes 2,000 cyclists on a 6-7 day ride on paved roads through Colorado's Rocky Mountains each June. The Ride The Rockies route is different each year, but always climbs a few challenging mountain passes and showcases Colorado's spectacular scenery. Daily rides can be as short as 35 miles or as long as 100 miles, but generally average 60-65 miles.

2007 Ride The Rockies registration fee was $315. Your fee includes camping space, restrooms and showers, transportation of one bag during the tour, shuttle transportation and entertainment in host towns, aid stations, bike repair vans, sag vehicles and medical support on the route, a Ride The Rockies cycling jersey, a water bottle and a tour map book.

Cycle for SET is the only organized, daytime community fun bicycle ride in the Pikes Peak Region. The event proceeds go directly to SET Family Medical Clinics' programs and services such as the Sock Exchange program at the SET Homeless Clinic Located at Marian House Soup Kitchen, general operating for the Well Being Clinics, the Spiritual Companioning Program, and the Gatherings - which assist seniors in coping with issues of aging in a supportive group environment. Because we have no national sponsors and are a local organization, local sponsorship of our event is very important.
Cyclists can choose to ride the 35-Mile, 65-mile or 100-Mile Century courses for this fully-supported, fundraising ride to benefit students of CU's College of Arts and Sciences.

Fun poker ride for riders of all skill levels on the Tabeguache Trail system near Montrose.
The Fort Collins Cycling Club presents the 10th Annual Spring Warm-Up starting and ending at the Spring Canyon Park Pavilion. There will be a Metric Century Rawhide Loop Route (100km/ 63mi), a 45-mile Prairie Loop Ride and a 15-mile family route with ride leaders for new or beginning cyclists.

Come with us on Santa Fe's 22nd Annual Century Ride. A hundred miles of history pass under your wheels as you cycle down the ancient Turquoise Trail through the old mining towns of Madrid and Golden, across the mineral rich Ortiz and San Pedro Mountains, across the Estancia Valley through the villages of Cedar Grove and Stanley and on to the very old but now "IN" village of Galisteo, and 100 miles after you start, wheel back into Old Santa Fe. In addition there are 25, 50, & 75 miles "out and back" to Eldorado, Galisteo, and Stanley respectively. Also, there is an easy 50 mile ATB loop with only 6 miles of country dirt road.
The Community Classic Bike Tour (CCBT) is a non-competitive, multi-distance bicycle tour through the beautiful foothills of Larimer County in Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado. It's a fun-filled ride that brings together family, friends, co-workers, and the biking community in a fundraising event that everyone will enjoy.
The Mission to Ride will feature multiple routes to satisfy riders of all levels. These routes have been designed to provide a pleasant yet challenging experience for all participants. The routes utilize both state and county roads. These routes are paved, either road bikes or mountain bikes are appropriate. Although support and sag will be available, we encourage all riders to have themselves and their bikes in good condition prior to ride. All riders must be able to fix their own flats. Aid stations will be provided at appropriate intervals. All routes (except mountain bike route) begin and end at Rotary Park (Columbine Middle School) in Montrose. The routes "overlap" and use mutual aid stations. Post event activities including a meal and a band are planned.
The Mission to Ride is proud to present new routes. The Century Route (1st Leg, 2nd Leg). This is a challenging ride that incorporates an arduous early morning climb to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park where the rider will be rewarded with breathtaking views. Riding along the south rim the rider will do an "out and back" to Warner Point and enjoy aid at the park's visitor center before a thrilling descent back into town. With most of the climbing done for the day, the riders head north. Views of the Grand Mesa and the Uncompahgre Plateau dominate this pleasant tour of rural farmland between Montrose and Delta. The route passes through the small communities of Olathe and Pea Green.
The Heart Hospital of New Mexico proudly presents the Albuquerque Century on June 7th, 2008.
This urban cycling event has everything a rider could want on a fabulous tour around the city of Albuquerque. Enjoy scenic views of the city and beautiful Sandia mountains as you pedal off the miles on this 100 mile perimeter loop. There are also 25-50-65 mile routes available to challenge riders of all ages, sizes and abilities.

A Century/Half century Mountain Bike Ride that will start on the George S. Mickelson Trail at the Deadwood Trailhead. For 114 scenic miles from Deadwood to Edgemont we'll be riding the George S. Mickelson Trail- the old Burlington Northern line that took trains from Edgemont, SD to the northern Black Hills and the gold mines of Deadwood area.
The Cheyenne Parks & Recreation Department is proud to present the Frontier Refining Inc. Tour de Prairie Cycling Adventure. The combinations of courses ranging from 10 to 62.5 miles make the Frontier Refining Inc. Tour De Prairie a complete cycling event. All courses are well supported for riders of all skills and ages. A road ride from Evergreen Colorado to Vail over Squaw (11,140), Loveland (11,990), and Vail (10,560) passes for a total of 120 miles and more than 10,000 feet of lung-busting gain in elevation!

Eagle County's sixth Colorado-Eagle River Ride - a one-day, 100-mile, 100 Km or 42-mile bicycle ride looping from Beaver Creek to Wolcott up CO Highway 131 to Colorado River Road down to Dotsero and back to Beaver Creek - is back!
The ride takes cyclists through the Eagle River Valley up the rural setting of Highway 131 and along the Colorado River. Most importantly, proceeds from the event will go to the Snowboard Outreach Society. This year's ambassador is Mike Kloser, three time EcoChallenge winner and former World Cup Mountain Bike champion.
Colorado Springs only organized century ride. This is a well supported, challenging urban road ride with two shorter distances, 35 and 65 miles.

The Rapid Valley Lions Club, in association with the Black Hills Regional Ski for Light, is pleased to invite you to join us for the 15th Annual Mount Rushmore Century Ride on Augest 16, 2008. This ride is idea for riders of all skill levels, handcyclists and tandems. Three rides are availabe starting with a 27 miles ride and ending with a 100 miles ride that winds past Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore and through Custer State Park.
Cyclists can choose to ride the 35-Mile, 65-mile or 100-Mile Century courses for this fully-supported, fundraising ride to benefit students of CU's College of Arts and Sciences.
Start and finish at the University of Colorado in Boulder and ride one of three courses through Boulder and Larimer counties. The 35-mile course is a fun ride in Boulder to St. Vrain Road and back past the Boulder Reservoir; the 65-mile ride challenges riders north of Berthoud and back; and the 100 mile Century ride for those hard-core cyclists winds past Carter Lake, north past the new Green Ridge Glade Reservoir to Masonville and home
What is a Brevet? An ultra-marathon, RAAM-style event conducted under the auspices of the International Randonneurs. Distances must be completed within a specified time limit, and checkpoints and some night riding can be invoved.
