Subject: Announcements, Tuesday, April 11

Dear Chorale Members,

Here are this week’s announcements. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Thank you!

Erin Christensen-Mandel, Boulder Chorale Administrator

*****************************************************

Don't forget! Early registration for the Boulder Chorale’s 2006-2007 Season has begun and will end at break on Tuesday, May 2nd. Save your place by registering now!

*****************************************************

WOMEN'S CHORALE World Music Concert tickets continue this week, from 6:50 to 7:00 and from 8:00 to 8:15. A whopping 116 tickets were checked out on the first night of sales! Keep up the good work.

*****************************************************

FILL THE HOUSE!

MACKY TICKET SALES START TONIGHT, Tuesday, April 11, from 6:50 to 7:00 and from 8:00 to 8:15. 3 price ranges will be available: $10; $25 and $35. If each of us sells 5 tickets we will have 750 people to sing to---a fine start towards filling Macky Auditorium, which has a capacity of 2000!

Though tickets will be available at the door or directly through the Boulder Philharmonic, when purchased through either of these venues they do not reflect that they were generated by the Boulder Chorale. So we are encouraging all members to get their tickets from us when possible, so that the Chorale's support of our Macky performances is readily apparent. Thanks for all of your efforts, members.

Fill the House! Sell 5!

From Stephanie Wanek, Fundraising Chair:

IF YOU MISSED REHEARSAL LAST WEEK DON'T FORGET TO GRAB AN APRIL NEWSLETTER!

INVITATIONS: Grab an invitation and please come to the April 30th Gala. Bring a friend! RSVP's are due by 4/25. Return them either by mail or to the silver RSVP box at rehearsals. WE ACCEPT CHECK OR CREDIT CARD FOR PAYMENT OPTIONS!!

THE GALA: Our goal is to be surrounded by 250 people at this gala evening celebrating our 40th anniversary at the St Julien Hotel. Cabaret groups are rehearsing like crazy, beautiful decorations are being planned, the time line and birthday cards will be true creations, table and seating are laid out, an area for dancing is being set aside and the wines are almost chilled!! What we need now is a room full of people to share the night!! IT'S THREE WEEKS AWAY.....

BIRTHDAY CARD: You can still keep taking envelopes for Birthday Card messages from potential contributors. For $40 dollars, companies can support our fine group and their business gets a 4.25 x 5.5 inch advertisement space. So it’s community goodwill as well as great exposure. FOLLOW-UP CALLS: Please start to make follow-up calls on the information packets you've dropped off to those local businesses. Sometimes they just need a gentle reminder. We'd like to receive all birthday messages by April 22 so we have time to assemble a beautiful card.

TALLY: Community Birthday Card Messages received to date: 24 (as of 4/8/06)

FILL THE HOUSE WITH A JOYOUS CHORUS!! A huge part of our success lies on our ability to fill our concerts with an audience. The next concert is the Women’s Chorale on April 28th and of course the Anniversary Concert on May 6th. How thrilling would it be to sing to a full house at Macky!!

From Karen Haimes, Concert Dress Committee:

LADIES: GENEROUS OFFER FROM CONCERT BLACK!

Our concert dress supplier has improved upon the waistbands of our gored skirts and has offered to replace all of the original narrow fold over elastic waistbands with the newer 1/2 inch covered elastic waistbands in those skirts which are having some stitches come undone, or if the skirts are not staying up securely. Turn around time is about a week. Shipping is free and there is no cost to you for the replacement. Bring your skirts to Karen during break on Tuesday, April 11 (at the Macky ticket sales table) in an individual bag, with your name securely attached and I will mail them for you. Shipping is also free of charge if skirts are mailed individually. After Tuesday, you may mail your skirt in separately to:

From Miriam Lindahl, Concert Manager, Riser Queen: On Tuesday, April 11, I will be collecting names of those interested in helping with the risers and ushers for the Women's Chorale performance on Friday, April 28. Ushers are needed for performance night only at First Baptist Church, Boulder. The Riser crew will be needed for Wednesday, April 26 and for teardown after the performance on April 28. Thanks, as always, for terrific support from all involved---husbands, boyfriends, families, assorted girlfriends!

Dress rehearsals for the May 6 concert with the Boulder Philharmonic:

Thursday, May 4: rehearsal for orchestra, Women's Chorale, and Chamber Chorale

Friday, May 5: rehearsal for orchestra, complete Boulder Chorale.

*****************************************************

Please refrain from wearing/using scents in the group. Some members are very sensitive and can become ill. Thank you for your consideration.

*****************************************************

Grocery Scrip will be on sale during the break. Scrip acts like cash at King Soopers grocery stores and by buying Scrip, you help support the Chorale!

****************************************************

The Annual Meeting of the Boulder Chorale will be held on MONDAY, May 8, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in their Jubilee Hall (lower level). It includes our usual end-of-the-season festivities, a pot luck supper, recognition of honorees, and the annual business meeting, which includes the election of Board members. Please let JoAn or Elsbeth know if you might be interested in a Board position.
