From Chorale Member, Miki Magyar:

I found an excellent web site with a translation and pronunciation guide for the Mozart Vespers. I think this would be helpful to many of the Chorale members. Please check it out.

From Stephanie Wanek, Fundraising Chair:

BIRTHDAY CARD: It’s official!! We have received the first messages to include in the card and so this anniversary project is off the ground. We need your participation to make this effort a success. In the lobby area, you’ll find envelopes with info for potential contributors. In addition, you can find lists of businesses already being contacted and ideas of other businesses you can approach. For $40 dollars, companies can support our fine organization and their business gets a 4 x 6 inch advertisement space. So it’s community goodwill as well as great exposure.

TALLY: Community Birthday Card Messages received to date: 6 (as of 3/4/06)

EARN A FREE GALA TICKET: We do have a program in place which not only spreads the birthday card idea even farther but also can earn you a free ticket to the gala!! Simply collect 3 birthday card messages from individuals or companies and you’ve earned a free ticket worth $40. Work your way to 6 and bring a date!!

GALA INVITATIONS: Julie Hale has designed a beautiful invitation which will go to the printer this week! In total, we’ll have 1,000 which will be given to you and also mailed to our supporters, alumni and other arts organizations. Our goal is to be surrounded by 250 people at this gala evening celebrating our 40th anniversary. We hope you all plan on attending and bringing a few special friends of yours. It’ll be a fun night with great jazz, good food, a champagne toast, a few surprises and entertainment by your fellow Chorale members! Remember it doesn’t have to cost you a thing if you approach 3 businesses for birthday card messages….

FILL THE HOUSE WITH A JOYOUS CHORUS!! A huge part of our success lies on our ability to fill our concerts with an audience. The Chamber Chorus had a concert this past weekend, the Women’s Chorale performs in April and we all sing in May. We depend on you to help us reach out and bring in our audience for each and every concert. It’s part of what has kept the Chorale active and thriving for 40 years.

From Paul Haynes, Music Librarian: REVISED BILLS Because of our concert program change for May 2006, everyone will get a revised bill on Tuesday evening, 2/21, at rehearsal. The revised bills will be in alphabetical order on a table in the Atonement narthex, waiting to be picked up as if they were pieces of sheet music. These bills will be printed on white paper. They are yours to keep for your records.

We are asking that you pay the amount on the bill by 3/14. Give your check to Jeff Hale (treasurer) or mail it to Treasurer, Boulder Chorale, 685 Inca Parkway, Boulder, CO, 80303.

Thank you for your patience with this process.

-- Paul Haynes, sheet music librarian

p.s. ... Regarding the Brahms requiem: The Chorale Board is hoping that you will see fit to keep this sheet music in anticipation of performing it in 2007. However, if you feel the need to return the Brahms for a credit, please bring your "bill" and your "Brahms" to me (Paul Haynes) at break time or after rehearsal. I will be standing at the kitchen counter and we can complete this adjustment. I will be available for this purpose from now until 3/14.

*****************************************************

Please refrain from wearing/using scents in the group. Some members are very sensitive and can become ill. Thank you for your consideration.

*****************************************************

Grocery Scrip will be on sale during the break. Scrip acts like cash at King Soopers grocery stores and by buying Scrip, you help support the Chorale!

****************************************************

The Annual Meeting of the Boulder Chorale will be held on MONDAY, May 8, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in their Jubilee Hall (lower level). It includes our usual end-of-the-season festivities, a pot luck supper, recognition of honorees, and the annual business meeting, which includes the election of Board members. Please let JoAn or Elsbeth know if you might be interested in a Board position.

Tickets for the Chorale outing to the Boulder Dinner Theatre to see "The King and I" will be on sale Tuesday. Tickets in the center are $42 and on the side $37.75. The date is Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 6:15. Make checks payable to Boulder Dinner Theatre.
