Subject: Announcements for Monday, May 8
Dear Chorale Members,
Here are this week’s announcements. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. See you at the potluck!

From Stephanie Wanek, Fundraising Chair: GROCERY SCRIP
We have LOTS of Grocery Scrip that we need to sell before the budget year ends! So, please stock up on extra scrip for your shopping in the next months, summertime barbeques, or graduation gifts. Your last chances are tomorrow's rehearsal or the Annual Potluck Meeting on 5/8/06. See Dede Beardsley.
*****************************************************
MAY NEWSLETTERS are being distributed tomorrow. Catch the last news of the season....

From Karen Haimes, Concert Dress Committee Chair: UPGRADED WAISTBANDS:
I will be making one more mailing to Concert Black for those of you who need replacements on either your skirts or slacks. Find me at the annual meeting, on Monday May 8, to give me your item packaged in a separate, securely closed bag with your name and contact info inside it. I will call or email you when they've returned so you can come to pick them up from me.

Kim Needham will be singing the soprano solo in the Mozart Vespers again on 6/9 with the Arvada Chorale.
Kim Needham will be teaching voice lessons this summer. There will be information flyers available in the lobby on Tuesday night and at the annual meeting. If you need more information, email Kim.

From Josephine Bynder:
In previous years we have had a group of volunteers working at the Bolder Boulder and the Chorale received $10 for each person. In the past few years, our numbers have dwindled, so I am wondering if any members are interested in doing this event this year? It will be on Monday, May 29 and we usually need to get there around 7:00 a.m., work for a couple of hours and then whoever wants to goes out for breakfast. We work with the Optimist Club and are rope holders in front of waves, keeping the waves separate. Please let me know asap if you are interested. Look for me at rehearsal, email me, or call 303-444-0256.
Ask me for details. Thank you.

From Miriam Lindahl, Concert Manager/Riser Queen:
Left in Macky’s basement dressing rooms: wrap-around sunglasses, pale pink lenses. I will bring them to the potluck.
Chamber Chorale: last chance to purchase “Ft. Collins CD”…..$10.00/cd. See me or Franzi Zessin at the potluck.
Look for a CD of Saturday’s performance in the fall. Thanks to all for a stellar performance!

THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER!
The 2007 Concert Tour will be announced tomorrow evening at the annual meeting!! We will also introduce our amazing, marvelous tour coordinator!
Don't miss out on the excitement!
*****************************************************
The Annual Meeting and Season's End Pot Luck will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 2312 - 14th St. (corner of 14th & Mapleton) beginning at 6 pm Monday May 8. We'll start with food -- please bring a dish of any kind -- appetizer, main course, salad, or dessert -- large enough for 6 people. Please bring a serving spoon or fork or whatever is needed.
Please mark your dish with your name -- but please don't forget it when you leave!
Tenors are also asked to bring drinks -- not wine, we have some left from the Gala!
Please also bring a fork, knife, and spoon. We'll have some paper plates, but feel free to bring something sturdier if you wish.
The Annual Meeting will begin at 7 pm. Among other business items will be election of Board members for 2006-7. All the candidates have prepared statements, which you may read on the web site or may see tomorrow evening on the Know Your Board display. There will also be a Question and Answer session, where you can ask any of us on the Board questions and -- we hope -- get the answers you deserve.
But there'll be some fun, too. We will hear from the "Not Ready for the Gala" performers, three acts not selected to perform at our big event. And we'll have a skit by the Tour Task Force announcing the destination of the Chorale's 2007 tour.
It'll all be over by about 9 pm. Please be there or be rare!
*****************************************************
To vote in the election at the annual meeting, you need to be a member in good standing for the year 2005-6. This means you have paid your dues and made all payments for music.

From the Concert Managers Miriam and Greg:
THE 3rd ANNUAL TOP 10 REASONS GREG AND MIRIAM HAVE TO SAY, “THANKS”………..
10. For Pastor Deb, Staff and Congregation at Atonement who share their beautiful, sacred space with not only the singers, but also store the Chorale’s seven risers and back railings.
9. Thanks for collaboration with ‘behind the scenes’ folks from Atonement Lutheran Church, Boulder PHIL, Congregation Emanuel, First Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. They make team work with this organization an art form.
8. As always, thanks for a very special guy named Kelly, known to all as “you know, Franzi’s husband”!
7. Thanks for a visionary governing board. (Special recognition goes to The Tour Task Force, the WEBSITE GUY and the 40th Birthday Gala Committee!) The Board routinely looks at the Chorale’s glass as “half full, not half empty”.
6. For spouses, family and friends who willingly serve as ushers, ticket takers and who sponsor this organization in a myriad of ways—we give thanks. They contribute in a unique way to the ensemble.
5. Thank you for members who say ‘yes’ more often than ‘no’—those who realize there is a job for everyone. The Chorale shows such kindness to each other.
4. For the membership almost seamlessly incorporating the new dress codes and taking more responsibility about the attendance policies: both are tough issues to negotiate. We think these are the flip sides of the same coin of professional behavior.
3. Thanks for all the riser guys (usually in their tuxes!) who diligently help—making our jobs look easy and giving us some great laughs.
2. Hats off to our Muses: Tim, Kim, Mike, Tony—a pat to Major!—and Caitlin.
1. Thanks for everyone’s health, their enthusiasm and sincere interest in and love of the music.
SEE YOU AT THE POTLUCK! HAVE A RELAXING, SAFE SUMMER!

The Board of Directors will meet informally on Tuesday, May 9th at JoAn's home. If you would like to come, please call her at 303-541-1065.
