Subject: Announcements for Tuesday, November 1
Dear Chorale Members,
Here are the announcements for this week. You can
e-mail any questions or comments to me.
Thank you very much,
-Erin

At tonight's break -- Oh, those busy break times!! -- tickets for the Bernstein concerts will again be available. Congregation Emanuel in Denver has over 800 seats, the First United Methodist Church in Boulder seats about 650. Chorale members have checked out a total of about 400 tickets. We really need to sell tickets for these concerts, so I hope more of you will take a few tickets for your friends and family members! This is the last week to check out tickets; unsold tickets and ticket money must be returned by next Tuesday, Nov. 8. Thanks for your support.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS! Please read your November Newsletter and mark your calendars with many fun events scheduled over the next few months. Tell a friend or bring a friend! These are important sources of revenue for the Chorale this year. Your help makes them successful.
PLEASE RETURN YOUR ALUMNI ADDRESS SHEETS!! We'd like to finish compiling addresses....
250 and counting!! Thanks to your efforts we've tracked down over 250 current addresses from old rosters of Chorale alumni. That's really terrific!! The new Alumni List gives the Chorale a great tool to reach out to former members.
CALLING ALL FORMER DIRECTORS....There are several of you who have been Chorale members for many, many years. We need to draw on your memories to gather all the names of former Chorale Directors. We'd like to invite them to our upcoming Anniversary events. Please give your lists to Stephanie, JoAn or Erin. Thanks.

From Miriam Lindahl, Concert Manager:
BUSES TO DENVER UPDATE:
This evening look for Greg at the break. He will have flyers for EACH person making the bus trip. The schedule for both nights is on the SAME sheet. It is important that you pick up only ONE brightly colored information sheet. If you have any questions of me, I’ll be in the Marketplace. The buses were a pleasure to organize—enjoy the ride. Please remember, all the buses are full! Be prompt!
RISER COMMITTEE:
The Riser Queen’s famous ‘pink slips’ will be distributed next week to the really stellar people who signed up to help: riser guys and riser girls and our favorite ambassadors: the ushers. This is an absolutely terrific way to help to the entire Chorale for a very few hours. THANKS!

Reminder: The next concert of the Boulder Chorale will be with the Boulder Philharmonic on December 10 at Macky Auditorium. This Baroque concert will feature a smaller-than-usual orchestra (38 instrumentalists) and a smaller-than-full choral group, the Boulder Chamber Chorale. But it is still the Boulder Philharmonic and it is still the Boulder Chorale. This is an innovative effort on the part of both groups. The Boulder Phil's usual audience is not necessarily known for its love of Baroque music and our usual appearance is as a large group. It will take effort on both parts to make this concert a real success. I hope you're keeping the date on your calendar!

The Board of Directors meets this Thursday, November 3 at 7:00 pm at Atonement Lutheran Church in the Chapel.

BILLS FOR CHORALE MEMBERS
The annual bill, for each Chorale member, will be ready to pick up at rehearsal on Tuesday, October 25. All bills will be folded and stapled for purposes of confidentiality. They will be arranged on tables, similarly to the way we handle distribution of sheet music. These bills will be on white paper. You may keep your bill for your records.
These bills are mostly for sheet music from now through Spring 2006. However, people who still have a portion of their 2005-2006 dues remaining(unpaid) will see the unpaid dues on this bill in addition to their sheet music charges.
Payment of the remaining amount due is expected by Tuesday, November 29. This will complete your payment of both dues and sheet music through Spring 2006.
Please review your bill and confirm that it is correct. If there are errors on your bill, or if you have questions about it, use the contact information printed on the bill and discuss the situation with Paul Haynes or Jeff Hale.
If you do not get a bill, please call or email Paul
Haynes immediately (303)494-9154 or

Afterglow Information by Jane Bender
There will be a AFTERGLOW GATHERING on November 13th, after our Bernstein performance at First United Methodist. All of us will be needed to bring a finger food only. Please, don't bring anything messy. Sopranos and Altos please bring 1-3 dozen cookies each, Tenors, please bring slices or cubed pieces of fruit (with toothpicks), Basses please bring cubed pieces of cheese (with toothpicks), and crackers to accompany if you prefer.
We will need three volunteers to bring three separate floral arrangements, in vases, for the aesthetic effect. These can be taken home by the same person purchasing them.
We would also like to borrow three separate punch bowls. Any volunteers who would rather bring the punch ingredients and ice blocks instead of the section assigned item, please do! All and any help will be greatly APPRECIATED.
We would really like to pull off a pleasant and memorable occasion for all. This is a nice way to prep for the holiday cheer. Thanks to all and see me if you have other helpful ideas.
Sincerely and love to each one of
you,
Jane Bender-Moore 303-665-5177(home).

Do you shop for groceries? Then consider buying King Soopers "gift certificates" during the (yes, I know, too busy) break. You pay $25 for a certificate; you take it to the store, you get $25 in groceries (or change.) The Chorale gets a percentage of the sales. Costs you nothing but the effort to write a check to the Chorale in advance. I usually buy some so I don't run out of cash at the end of the month. I also often give one to my daughter or granddaughter, who can always use a little help in the cash department.

Josephine Bynder will be selling the Entertainment Books in the Marketplace.

For those who don't have access to a piano and would like an alternative to rehearse at home, Hammond Music Service makes song learning CDs. They cost $17/per CD. Hammond is in the process of converting their library from tape to CD, so for those who are performing "The Lark", that CD will be available by early October. To order, call 800-628-0855, or go to their website at www.songlearning.com.
