Subject: Announcements for Tuesday, Nov. 8

Dear Chorale Members,

Here are the announcements for this week. You can e-mail any questions or comments to me.

Thank you very much, -Erin

**************************************

Tonight, Tues. Nov. 8, is the last opportunity to turn in your ticket revenue and unsold tickets. Thanks for your efforts to fill those seats!

**************************************

ERROR: There will not be a Member Potluck on December 13th. That event was replaced by the Dessert Decadence gathering earlier this season.

Look for the green postcards in the lobby about upcoming Chorale concerts. Please hand them out at work or to friends. We really need your help in drumming up audiences for our concerts!

From Kevin Pettit, Chorale Member:

While reading a book assigned in a class that I am taking at Iliff School of Theology, I was given in the book the website:

memory.loc.gov/ammem/lbhtml/lbhome.html

It is a very interesting site from the Library of Congress having to do with Leonard Bernstein.

Kim Needham is doing "Into the Woods" at Niwot High School on December 1, 2, and 3 at 7 pm and December 4 at 1 pm. Tickets available at the door or in advance at the Niwot High School Box office on 11/10,11/11, 11/17, 11/18 from 2:30-3:30pm. 303-652-2550.

From Miriam Lindahl, Concert Manager:

The coveted ‘pink slips’ from the riser queen will be circulated tonight! To those people who signed up for the risers and the ushers--------look for Greg and me.

On Thursday at FUMC, more brightly colored flyers will be handed out to EVERYONE. These are some performance guidelines. In the meantime, be sure to locate a black folder to bring to dress rehearsal. Thanks so much for all the goodwill and beautiful music.

Do you have a friend who loves to sing? The Boulder Chorale is registering male tenors and basses through January 10, 2006. The Boulder Women’s Chorale is holding open enrollment for all women through January 10th as well. You can stop by the Chorale Office to pick up a registration sheet or you can visit our website: www.boulderchorale.org

From JoAn Segal, President

Reminder: The next concert of the Boulder Chorale will be with the Boulder Philharmonic on December 10 at Macky Auditorium. This Baroque concert will feature a smaller-than-usual orchestra (38 instrumentalists) and a smaller-than-full choral group, the Boulder Chamber Chorale. But it is still the Boulder Philharmonic and it is still the Boulder Chorale. This is an innovative effort on the part of both groups.

The Boulder Phil's usual audience is not necessarily known for its love of Baroque music and our usual appearance is as a large group. It will take effort on both parts to make this concert a real success. I hope you're keeping the date on your calendar!

****************************************

On Friday, December 16th at 7:30 p.m., the Women’s Chorale will perform Benjamin Britten’s work for voices and harp “A Ceremony of Carols”. The concert will be held at Atonement. Come enjoy the sounds of the season while listening to your fellow singers!

Tickets: Adults $12 / Senior Citizens (65 & over) $10 / Children (12 & under) $1.

Tickets are available at Boulder Chorale ticket outlets and will be available at the door until sold out.

BILLS FOR CHORALE MEMBERS
-------------------------

The annual bill, for each Chorale member, was ready to pick up at rehearsal on Tuesday, October 25. All bills are folded and stapled for purposes of confidentiality. They will be arranged in alphabetical order on a table (similarly to a distribution of sheet music) each Tuesday until picked up.

These bills are on white paper. You may keep your bill for your records.

These bills are mostly for sheet music from now through Spring 2006. However, people who still have a portion of their 2005-2006 dues remaining (unpaid) will see the unpaid dues on this bill in addition to their sheet music charges.

Payment of the remaining amount due is expected by Tuesday, November 29. This will complete your payment of both dues and sheet music through Spring 2006.

Please review your bill and confirm that it is correct. If there are errors on your bill or if you have questions about it, use the contact information printed on the bill and discuss the situation with Paul Haynes or Jeff Hale.

If you do not get a bill at all, please call or email Paul Haynes immediately -- (303)494-9154 or .

Thanks for your attention to this important matter.

Sheet Music Librarian

Afterglow Information by Jane Bender

There will be an AFTERGLOW GATHERING on November 13th, after our Bernstein performance at First United Methodist. All of us will be needed to bring a finger food only. Please, don't bring anything messy.

Sopranos and Altos please bring 1-3 dozen cookies each, Tenors, please bring slices or cubed pieces of fruit (with toothpicks), Basses please bring cubed pieces of cheese (with toothpicks), and crackers to accompany if you prefer.

We will need three volunteers to bring three separate floral arrangements, in vases, for the aesthetic effect. These can be taken home by the same person purchasing them. We would also like to borrow three separate punch bowls. Any volunteers who would rather bring the punch ingredients and ice blocks instead of the section assigned item, please do!

All and any help will be greatly APPRECIATED. We would really like to pull off a pleasant and memorable occasion for all. This is a nice way to prep for the holiday cheer. Thanks to all and see me if you have other helpful ideas.

Sincerely and love to each one of you,

Jane Bender-Moore 303-665-5177(home).

Do you shop for groceries? Then consider buying King Soopers "gift certificates" during the (yes, I know, too busy) break. You pay $25 for a certificate; you take it to the store, you get $25 in groceries (or change.) The Chorale gets a percentage of the sales. It costs you nothing but the effort to write a check to the Chorale in advance. I usually buy some so I don't run out of cash at the end of the month. I also often give one to my daughter or granddaughter, who can always use a little help in the cash department.

Josephine Bynder will be selling the Entertainment Books in the Marketplace.
