BOULDER CHORALE
Timothy Snyder, director
Kim Needham, associate conductor

Boulder Chorale (BC) is our organization's largest performing ensemble. This is a mixed chorus, suitable for massive choral works such as the Verdi Requiem, which we performed in May 2005.

Regular BC rehearsals are every Tuesday evening at Atonement Lutheran Church from 7:00 to 9:30, with holiday breaks. Starting in September 2005, BC rehearses in sections for the first half of each Tuesday rehearsal and en masse for the second half. Additionally, dress rehearsals will be scheduled. See the calendar for rehearsal-schedule details and exceptions.

No audition is required to join the Boulder Chorale (large choir). However, due to the space limitations of our concert venues, and in order to maintain balance between sections, the Board of Directors has instituted a size limit by section. Registration within each section is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The size limit is 35 singers for each section: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. The Soprano and Alto sections are expected to be full before August 29, 2006; the Tenor and Bass sections are expected to have vacancies.

Despite the section size limits, the philosophy of the Chorale is definitely not exclusionary. The Chorale Board does not wish to turn away anyone who wants to sing with us. To that end, the membership rules of the Women's Chorale have been changed in order to allow membership in that ensemble, independent of BC membership. In that way we hope to offer a choral opportunity to all interested singers.

If the Tenor and Bass section limits are reached for the 2006-2007 Season, the Chorale Board of Directors will consider further changes for 2007-2008.
