The Boulder Chorale is hiring a new artistic director. This is a permanent position with responsibility to lead the Chorale's artistic mission, and conduct the Chorale during rehearsals and performances.

The Boulder Chorale is an adult non-audition community choir of over 60 members. The mission of the Chorale is to provide a musical experience that allows singers in Boulder County area to reach their potential through musical and vocal training, rehearsal, and performance. The Chorale seeks to serve the larger community by presenting quality choral performances of works from the classical choral repertoire.

Applications for artistic director will be accepted through March 20th, 2001. Based on applications received, the Board of the Chorale will select candidates for interviews and auditions. Interviews will be conducted by the Board, auditions will occur before the Chorale membership at large. We anticipate that interviews and auditions will occur in April and that the Chorale will fill this position by May 1, 2001.

Job description as follows:

Position: Artistic Director/Conductor. The Boulder Chorale of Boulder Colorado is searching for an artistic director/conductor beginning in the fall of 2001. The Chorale is a non-profit organization representing Boulder County's largest community choir of over sixty members. The Chorale performs two to three concerts per year and rehearses on Tuesday evenings. The position of Artistic Director/Conductor reports directly to the Chorale's Board of Directors. This is a part time position based with a salary range from 5200-6900/yr depending on the applicants experience and training.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant is responsible for selecting classical choral repertoire, conducting, and performing with the Chorale. In addition, the artistic director is expected to be involved in public relations, fundraising, and other activities crucial to the development of the Chorale. Assistance in these activities is provided by the Chorale's lead administrator and the Board of Directors.
