Greetings from the President
Sue Hintz-Siegrist
Dear Boulder Chorale members,
This is my last letter to you as your President, as my term will be up in June, and I have decided to step down at this time so that I can turn my attention to my fiber arts and my studio. I am sorry that I didn't have an opportunity these last few weeks to address you personally at rehearsal, but I didn't feel it appropriate with our guests from Golden. I will be leaving for Spain and Norway on May 1st to travel with my husband (and son) on the last leg of his sabbatical. Elsbeth has graciously offered to conduct the Annual Meeting business in my absence.
You have before you the opportunity to make your voice heard and to exercise your power as a voting member of the Chorale. You will be voting on 8 members of your Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting and Party on May 10th. We have 5 current board members who wish to seek reelection, and 3 vacant spots to replace. This is your chance to run as a candidate, or vote for those who you feel will best lead the Chorale into the next season and beyond. Don't miss this important meeting, and what promises to be a fun party!
I will remain on the board as Past President for a year to help with the transition to the newly elected board members. I look forward to continuing as a member of the Chorale, and hope to sing with the Chamber Chorale, now that I will have the time for additional rehearsals.
It has been truly my pleasure and very rewarding to work with such a talented group of singers, who give of their time not only as performers, but volunteers. The Chorale has grown and blossomed under the direction of our wonderful Artistic Director Tim, and I hope in small part because of my leadership.
Thanks to all of you who have come to me with your concerns and comments over the past two years. The board always welcomes your input. Have a great Verdi concert series and a wonderful summer, if I don't see you! I'm looking forward to the Austria Tour concert and, of course, next season!
For the Love of Music......Sue

Fundraising by Stephanie Wanek
Spring Raffle going GREAT!
Thanks to all you energetic members who are selling tickets to neighbors, friends and at work. I’m pleased to say after just two weeks of sales, we’ve raised over $ 800!! These funds are earmarked for events celebrating our 40th anniversary next year. With a great push from everyone we may come close to selling every ticket printed. Great job! The drawing for over $2,500 in great prizes will be at our member potluck on May 10th. PLEASE keep selling those tickets!!
Don’t forget, a prize goes to the Chorale member who sells the most tickets! So keep track of the number of tickets you sell. If you need additional tickets, please see Stephanie.
NEEDED: 2 volunteers to sell raffle tickets at Verdi!!
We need two non-singing volunteers to sell raffle tickets at the May 6th Verdi Concert. A table will be set up in the lobby of Sacred Heart to sell raffle tickets about 45 minutes before the concert and during the intermission. If you or someone you know can help us out, please contact Stephanie Wanek.
Volunteer Appreciation
Thanks to Whole Foods & Spruce Confections and several other contributions, we were able to put together a terrific snack spread on April 12th. The Boulder Chorale relies heavily on many volunteers who give time and energy throughout the year to help The Boulder Chorale. THANK YOU!
Fundraising Feedback & Angel Ticket Forms
Please return these forms by May 10th either to the office or at the potluck
In this newsletter you’ll find a double-sided sheet. One side requests nominations for the board to consider as next year’s Angel Ticket partners. Please think about groups you know who serve the community and whose members will take advantage of the free concert tickets offered. The other side of the hand-out requests your suggestions about new fundraising ideas, events you liked, things you’re tired of and how you think we can increase funding levels for the chorale.
Help the Boulder Chorale win a $1000 donation! Simply go to www.precisionplumbing.com to nominate the Boulder Chorale to receive $1000 in Precision Plumbing’s monthly giveaway for non-profit community organizations. The more nominations, the greater the chance of winning!

Miriam Lindahl
TOP 10 REASONS MIRIAM AND GREG HAVE TO SAY, “THANKS for the 2004-2005 Season”
10.Thanks to Pastor Deb, the Staff, and Congregation at Atonement for sharing their beautiful church with us and our seven new risers.
9.Thanks for collaboration with ‘behind the scenes’ folks from the Boulder Phil, Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, The Golden Concert Choir, First United Methodist Church and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. They make team work with this organization an art form.
8. Plus thanks for a very special guy named Kelly, known to all as “you know, Franzi’s husband”!
7.Thanks for a visionary governing board including our wonderful Administrative Assistant, Erin. This group routinely looks at the Chorale’s glass as “half full, not half empty”.
6. Thanks for spouses, family, and friends who willingly serve as ushers, ticket takers and who sponsor this organization in a myriad of ways. They contribute in a unique way to the ensemble.
5.Thanks for members who say ‘yes’ more often than ‘no’—those who realize there is a job for everyone. The Chorale shows such kindness to each other.
4.Thanks for understanding that looking good, sounding good and a good attendance record are the flip sides of the same coin of professional behavior.
3. Thanks for all the riser guys and riser gals who diligently help—making our jobs look easy and giving us some great laughs and thanks for our Muses: Tim, Kim, Michael, Sherrill, and Charles.
1. Thanks for everyone’s health, their enthusiasm and sincere interest in and love of the music.
SEE YOU AT THE POTLUCK! HAVE A RELAXING SUMMER!
