ALAN FREDERICKSON JAZZ ENSEMBLE
Alan was the first leader of the Queen City Jazz Band and led them
for many years. He took a few years ooff to rejuvenate himself. He has
been back in business with his trombine and funny tales with this
top-notch band for quite a while. His seven-piece band has been playing
for over a year at Centerfields in Denver on Thursday nights, and
at the Bull and Bush in Glendale on alternate Sundays. Also, Alan
is the founder and co-coordinator of the Summit Jazz Festival held
the last weekend in September at the Hyatt Regency in Denver.
PEARL STREET JAZZ BAND
The Pearl Street Jazz Band is a six-piece ensemble led by
clarinetist Roger Campbell. Roger, a CU finance major graduate,
was trained classically on his instrument, but took up jazz in his spare
time. Most of his band are CU graduates who began their jazz careers as a
"youth" band, making appesrsnces at several festivals around the country.
They've stayed together after graduation and play gigs in the summer as
well as the Bull and Bush and yearly at the Denver Jazz
Club's monthly concerts.
