Bob was a Navy musician during WWII, played with local bands while attending college at KSC, and territory bands in the mid-West prior to moving to Denver in 1952. He was a regular with the Johnny Carroll big band for several years, has worked shows, musicals, circuses, conventions, car shows, club dates and was first trumpet with the National Western Stock Show Band for seventeen years. You name it - he's worked it!
His first love, Dixieland, was acquired while stationed in New York city. He played with groups in London and Frankfurt after the war. "Dixieland was a real novelty in England and Europe at that time." Bob's Summitridge Jazz Band can be heard daily at Colorado Central Station in Blackhawk.
