Vern Baumer Resigns
The Board was informed last Tuesday night that Music Director Vern Baumer
has tendered his resignation. Vern will continue to play at the jam
sessions as well as continue to serve on the Board of BFJ. But he feels
he needs some relief from the burdens associated with being the Music
Director, a job he has performed for the club over the past ten years.
The Board has not yet appointed a successor to Vern, but will ask the
featured solists for the next two sessions, Jim Tracey and Chaz Bowles to
perform the Music Director task for those sessions. Consideration will be
given to the appointment of a permanent Director in the near future.
