Star and Garters Band
The "Stars and Garters" band plays familar standards and obscure novelty
songs dating from the mid-1800's to the mid-1900's in a unique Dixieland
style. "Our goal is to help the audience entertain itself." The roots of
the musical style date back to the riverboat days of the mid-1800's when
"street music" was created around the "portable" banjo--not to be confused
with the console banjo or the grand banjo. The show is fast-paced,
engaging, and not without musical trivia. The band is made up of Northern
Colorado musicians who masquerade as high-tech engineers by day.
The band is made up of:
Ted Turner, band leader, banjo and vocals
Mark Winkel, tuba
Kevin Wibble, trombone, vocals
Glen Leinbach, trumpet, vocals, misc. percussion,p>
