Dear Applicant, 

Thank you for your interest in the scholarship being presented by the Longmont Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The American Association of University Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls.

To be eligible to receive the local scholarship:
      • You or your immediate family must be residents of the St. Vrain Valley School District.
      • You must be a woman who is currently working towards an undergraduate college degree and has completed at least 30 college credit hours at an accredited college or university at the time of the application. 
      • A grade point average of at least 3.0 is required. 

College graduates who are returning to college to upgrade skills and has a letter of enrollment or acceptance are also encouraged to apply.

There will be a minimum of one scholarship awarded in the amount of $1000. Submitted applications will be judged on the qualifications of the student, as well as financial need.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 6, 2006 and the Scholarship Committee’s decision will be final. Scholarships recipients will be expected to attend our annual Spring Fling Brunch in the morning of May 13, 2006 to be introduced to the membership. Scholarship money will be sent directly to the scholarship recipient’s school in September.
