EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EXPLORING POST 493

SPONSORED BY

AMERICAN RED CROSS

AND

BOULDER CITY/COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Emergency management explorers experience training and actual field experience as disaster assistance team members through American Red Cross, as well as community disaster education instructors, and as members of the community emergency respond teams when they are organized. Explorers are called on to respond to support emergency personnel in major events such as wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hazardous materials incidents, housefires, sever thunderstorms or winter storms, and many other natural or man-made hazards. Explorers learn about career possibilities. Explorers also are trained in CPR and as First Responders and may belong to other posts at the same time.
