Park Initiative
revisited
1.
Susie Lefebvre is officially
new HOA VP. Gina Simmering is officially new HOA Secretary. Laura Wolf to remain
HOA Board Member and Newsletter Editor.
2.
We have $6,658 in HOA
funds. Income for the year is
approx. $4,000, before the amount used to landscape the south entrance is
subtracted.
3.
It was decided that a HOA
general meeting is to take place on one of these dates, TBA: October 24, 26 or
25th. The main topic of the meeting will center on the park
initiative.
4.
Joe Lanzoni received two
complaints recently from Heatherwood homeowners. The correct course of action
with complaints will be as follows: they must be submitted in writing which, in
turn will generate a letter to the offender stating the
complaint.
5.
What to do with HOA Funds.
Homeowners and board members need to look at the short term/long-term goals of
the Heatherwood neighborhood and ultimately the amount of money we have for
these projects. If we cannot find a
project manager to volunteer for the tree-trimming project, the next most likely
use of HOA money will be the bus stop benches. These are the items listed in order of
how the Heatherwood homeowners voted to use HOA money:
1)
Landscaping
(done).
2)
Trimming Shrubs: Need
someone to volunteer as project manager; ad will be placed in next newsletter
for this position.
3)
Park (will be voted on in
November election).
4)
Sidewalks with wheelchair
access.
5)
Bus stop
benches.
6)
Bike
paths.
7)
Traffic
Lights?
5.
Park Initiative Revisited: A
few issues were brought up regarding the use of HOA funds to promote the park
initiative. The general feeling was not to use HOA funds for Pro Park
propaganda. In anticipation of negative park propaganda the park committee is
currently brainstorming on ways to positively promote the park prior to the
November election. A special newsletter will come out prior to the general
meeting with information about the proposed park, a second flyer will be sent
out the last week in October with Q & A regarding common questions about the
park initiative.
