Breastfeeding Education and Support
from La Leche League of Colorado/Wyoming

Breastfeeding is the best beginning... La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing support, education, information, and encouragement to women who choose to breastfeed.

La Leche League International is recognized as the world's foremost authority on breastfeeding and the world's largest resource for breastfeeding information. La Leche League International (LLLI) distributes more than three million publications annually, some of which are available in over thirty languages.

Our manual, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING, is a comprehensive guide to nursing a baby. It combines the latest medical research with the personal wisdom and experience of breastfeeding mothers.

La Leche League of Colorado/Wyoming is a part of La Leache League International which is incorporated in Illinois as a nonprofit organization. LLLI has been determined to be federally tax exempt under U.S. 501 (3) (c) status and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Whether you're pregnant and considering breastfeeding or you have already decided, La Leche League is here for you and your baby!

La Leche League Leaders, themselves experienced nursing mothers, are accredited by LLLI to conduct monthly meetings or open-ended guided discussions about all aspects of breastfeeding and related subjects. Leaders also offer support by phone or in person on a mother-to-mother basis.

Our Health Advisory Council, which includes physicians and other medical professional, attests to the accuracy of breastfeeding information offered in La Leche League publications. The Council is consulted on medical problems and evaluation of new research.

Each Group has a lending library of books which reflect 's philosophy on breastfeeding, childbirth, nutrition, weaning, child development, and parenting. Each Group also offers for sale a selection of books published by LLLI, as well as information sheets about special breastfeeding and parenting situations.
