Boy Scout Troop 70

About our Troop

Boy Scout Troop 70 is a fast-growing troop of 32 scouts. We are chartered to American Legion Post 10 in Boulder, Colorado. The troop restarted after a period of dormancy in March, 1996.  Since then, we have grown from three scouts to our present size, and have earned the Quality Unit Award for every year from 1997 to 2002.

Our Scouts range in age from ten to seventeen. At present, we have two Eagle, six Life, nine Star, four First Class, four Second Class , four Tenderfoot and three Scout ranks.

We take pride in being a Scout-run troop.  Scouts plan our yearly calendar and all troop activities.

We have a very active outdoor program. We camp outdoors year-round, with 22 nights of camping scheduled this year. For more information, see our troop calendar. We participate in the Arapahoe District Rendezvous and Klondike, as well as summer camp.

We have an extensive High Adventure Program for the older Scouts. We completed treks at Elkhorn High Adventure Base in 1999 and 2001. We completed treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in 2000 and 2002, and have another scheduled for 2004.  Future plans include the Florida Sea Base and possible the Sommers Canoe Base.

We welcome new members and visitors at any time. For more information, contact any of the leaders on our contact page
