Temple of Ascension

Today
I follow the Light of Spirit
As I am led
To the long sought threshold
Of the temple of Ascension.
A voice, closer than my own breath,
Reveals the way.

I climb
The seven rainbow steps
Which lead into
The Temple of my Being.
In devotion I light
The seven sacred lamps
Positioning along its inner passageways,
Pausing to bathe
Within the liquid, luminescent fire
Of each emanation.

As I proceed through the labyrinth,
I draw forth
The purified energy within the heart
Of each fiery flame,
That they may be
Contained and synthesized
For dedication to the One
Who sustains the inner Light
Within the utmost chamber.

As I move onward
Along the corridors of my Temple,
Traveling from the outer portal
To the inner sanctum,
I am aware
That each lamp is encircled
By a shrine.
Gods and Goddesses,
Protectors and benefactors
Gaze down at me
From the heights I have accorded them;
Each dispensing
Protection, support and refuge
As my needs have required
And, as my fears have demanded.

The size and dimension
Of my self-created deities
Are minimized
As I come closer
To the intermost chambers
Where, at last, true Divinity resides
In pristine clarity
And unadorned radiance.

Upon the altar
Of this inner sanctuary
I come now to place myself,
That the flame of the Ascension fire
May blaze up
And consume into itself
All of the demigods
I have created and filled
With life force;
All of the Gods and Goddesses
I have given myself to.
Here I gladly relinquish
All vows, pledges and solemn promises
By which I have been bound
And by which I have held others
Bound.

All that I have been
And all that I Am
I here entrust
For transmutation, regeneration, br> I would have as my prayer ...
That the only ornamentation
Used to grace my Temple
Be but the Living Light
Which issues forth from the heart
Of the One Great Light.

From this day on
I shall place no other Gods
Before Thee,
Father/Mother God br.

From this day on br> Of my heritage. p> From this day on p> I AM THAT I AM. /body>
