Miscellaneous TMA Notes

TMA RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

The Association is looking for new members that would be interested in serving on the Board of Directors. If you have ideas or are interested I helping with programs or events, we would like to have you become part of the group! It is only a small time commitment and the more people we have, the more events we can sponsor. The Board meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. You can check the website for the host's address or call a board member for information.

TMA ANNUAL DUES ARE NOW DUE.

$5.00 membership renewals are due Oct. 1 to cover through September 2000. A coupon has been included on the back page for your convenience.

Your continued membership is important for two reasons:

  1. The money is needed to continue mailing quarterly newsletters to close to 900 residents within a three-mile radius of Table Mountain.
  2. The association presently has 149 voluntary, paid memberships, a number that, if renewed, will command attention should we need to represent the membership's interests.

Contributions in addition to your dues are always welcome.

TMA Airplane noise reduction committee formed.

Steve Trachinger is looking for other neighbors who would be interested in joining a committee to alleviate airplane noise in the neighborhood. If you are such a person, please call him at 303-440-6953.

TMA NEIGHBORHOOD WILDLIFE INCLUDES BEARS!

Steve McCoy of 3310 Plateau Rd., just east of the Tribble Stone Yard, was awakened at 3:00 AM on August 28th by the noise of a hungry black bear turning over his garbage cans to hunt for a meal. Before he bounded off into the night, the bear tried to get at the sugar in the hummingbird feeder, but the feeder was fortunately hung too high for him to reach.

The wildlife specialist who responded to Steve's 911 call said that from now until the end of October, bears will be extremely hungry while fattening up for hibernation. They tend to forage at night and sleep during the day. He suggested that we keep our garbage cans locked up inside garages. Do not leave grains or sweets (birdfeeders) where bears can get at them. And be sure to keep people, dogs, and cats safely inside at night.
