WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Prospective Fireline Supervisors seeking advanced training in wildland behavior.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prerequisite: S-190
S-290 is designed to instruct prospective Fireline Supervisors in wildland fire behavior for effective and safe operations. The course builds on the curriculum of S-190, with a more detailed study of fuels, weather and topography. It also provides a better basis for analyzing variables, and understanding how they interact to affect fire behavior. This course offering is NWCG approved by the region.

LEAD INSTRUCTORS
S-290 Lead Instructors will be Rod Moraga, Fire Behavior Analyst, and Chris White, Division Supervisor.

Coal Creek Canyon FPD is hosting an Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior (S-290) class according to the schedule below. This classroom only course is designed to provide students with the knowledge of wildland fuels and fire behavior to make safe and effective fire management decisions on prescribed and wildland fires. Jay Stalnacker, with the Boulder County Sheriffs Office, will be instructing the class. Those of you who know Jay can attest that he is a dynamic, passionate, and knowledgeable instructor who brings the material to life through his personal experiences.

Cost for the class is $100 per individual, and will include meals. Payment should in the form of a check, made out to Coal Creek Canyon FPD, and is due on the first class. Successful completion of S-130/190 is a pre-requisite.
