Janusz Okolowicz 2. 1) An appropriate curriculum at the middle-school level would include a solid grounding in core academic subjects like English, science, math, history and foreign language. "Interdisciplinary" learning at this level, before subjects are mastered, is like building the roof of a house before the foundation. 2) Each student must have the opportunity to be challenged. 3) BVSD curriculum has not been updated since 1986. Financially, we must build our budget from the classroom up: instruction first, each building's support services and staff second, and all else, including central administration, after.
