BCN thanks Indra's for their generous donation of virtual private server facilities.

At the same time, we all know that BCN's original mission of getting Boulder bootstrapped onto the web was fullfilled very well long ago. In the meantime, many other options became available, and nearly all sites have moved along to other hosts. We will keep the server alive for the few remaining sites, and as a memorial to the innovation of the past.

But given the complications of the move, we won't be able to maintain all the functionality of the past. The upgrade from our previous server involves a variety of major operating system and Apache server updates. Users may notice problems with pages and sites on BCN.
If you know exactly how to fix a problem, we may be able to implement the fix, but please understand that we may not have the resources to do so properly or quickly.

2. Operating System: we will be running a newer release of of Ubuntu Linux: 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver"

For owners of web pages on BCN, here's some more info:

• DIPP and ftp have been retired
• Most logins and email address from the old server have been retired.
• PHP and CGI scripts are no longer supported due to limited use and the complicated security issues they create.
