About Golden West
Located next to the beautiful Flatirons mountains in Boulder, CO, Golden West is an innovative, non-profit senior resident community created to provide a secure, maintenance-free environment for persons 62 years or older. The three building complex, which was constructed in 1965, is set on extensive grounds with beautiful mature landscaping, and is home to over 300 residents.
Many of our seniors live active lifestyles, so our convenient location enhances a busy schedule of outside trips, shopping and entertainment. There is also a fun-filled calendar of social gatherings and programs planned by our professional staff. Residents, staff and volunteers conduct many classes such as Sit and Be Fit, Fit Ball, World Affairs, Literature Studies, Spanish, Creative Writing, Computer Training, and Ceramics, to name a few.
Our residents enjoy many pleasant attractive common areas in and around the buildings, including a comfortably furnished penthouse with its own kitchen and deck. There is an activity room for crafts or a game of pool, a well-stocked library, a full service beauty salon, laundry rooms, a guestroom, and a gift shop. Two attractively landscaped parks provide a pleasant area for relaxing or visiting with friends. Our beautifully decorated dining room is the focal point of many social functions.
Other outstanding features include cable and closed circuit TV, a wellness center, and four computers available for games or connections to the Internet. There is ample parking available, and the public bus system stops outside our front door entrance.
