The Boulder Community Network
placed a Macintosh with dialup access at the Golden West in April 1996
as part of a community networking grant provided by the NTIA/TIIAP
program. Golden West provided a computer lab area to house the equipment,
furnishings and supplies. Due to the heavy use of the Computer Lab,
a second Mac and a color printer have been added.
Seated at the computer is Prudence Elkins, a resident who first had
the idea that Golden West needed a computer and internet access. She
also was responsible for seeing to it that the residents have this web
site.!
Our computer tutors train residents in the use of our Macintosh computers,
printers and how to navigate the internet and to use e-mail.
