Information Center Developer
- Description: Coordinate the development of a BCN information center (ie. Arts, Religion). Determine "holes" in local content. Actively develop local content development by communicating with appropriate local non-profit organizations that do not yet have a web site -- offer BCN assistance and coordinate help for them with BCN volunteer coordinator. Assure content is current. Add links as requested.
- Requirements/Skills:
- Familiarity with the WWW, and with BCN
- Experience with HTML development
- A strong interest in providing information via BCN that will benefit the community
- Commitment: Negotiable; minimum 6 months.
- Location: Can be done from home/work or any computer with Internet access

Web Page Developer
- Description:
Work with non-profits to develop web sites. Assist with artistic presentation of non-profit organization information on BCN. Position could also include teaching one of the community members how to develop pages as well.
- Commitment: Negotiable; minimum 3 months.
- Location: Can be done from home/work or any computer with Internet access.

Spanish Language Translator/Developer
- Description:
Translator for sections of existing text on BCN to Spanish. Explore the Hispanic community needs in terms of BCN Information Centers. Coordinate translation efforts at the K-12 level.
- Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to Hispanic community to determine what information the community would like to share
- Build an Information Center on BCN for Spanish speaking community
- Assist in outreach for Public Orientation Sessions
- Requirements/Skills:
- Good communications skills
- Bilingual abilities
- Understanding of the WWW, BCN and its contents
- Familiarity with the Colorado Hispanic community
- Full Internet access with e-mail capabilities.
- Commitment: - minimum 3 months
- Location: - Calls and e-mail correspondence can be done anywhere. Meetings with interested parties will be around the county.

Public Orientation Instructor
- Description:
Make 2 hour interactive presentations on BCN. Follow an instructor's guide for most of session (see links from volunteer center)
- Responsibilities:
- Guide new users in use of BCN
- Answer questions and facilitate discussion

- Familiarity with the WWW, and with BCN
- A strong interest in working with a community of new users
- Patience, compassion, and an ability to explain information to those with little understanding of the topic

Public Orientation Assistant
- Description:
Assistant public orientation instructor. Float around classroom and provide one-to-one assistance on web surfing as needed in tandem with instructors general guided tour of the web and web tools.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with the WWW, and with BCN
- A strong interest in working with a community of new users
- Patience, compassion, and an ability to explain information to those with little understanding of the topic
- Commitment: 3 months
- Location: Solbourne in Boulder or Ute Creek in Longmont

One-On-One Tutor
- Description:
Help build BCN's training component. Being a one-on-one tutor means patiently assisting new users get acquainted with BCN and the concept of the World Wide Web.
- Responsibilities:
meeting with community members at public access site for pre-scheduled appointments of 1-2 hours several times per month.
- Requirements/Skills:
- Familiarity with the WWW, and with BCN
- A strong interest in working with a community of new users
- Patience, compassion, and an ability to explain information to those with little understanding of the topic
- Commitment: Negotiable; minimum 3 months.
- Location: public access sites or at non-profit/human service agencies

Technical Assistant
- Provide technical assistance to Boulder County non-profit organizations and educational institutions.
- Assess a client organization's resources and computing and/or information processing needs.
- Make recommendations and provide assistance that is affordable and sustainable for a given organization.
Current Needs for:
- Family Learning Center in San Juan del Centro
Helping to set up a database to store records for adult education at the center.

Resource Developer
- Description: Work with BCN Director to develop funding sources for the ongoing operation of BCN.
- Possible Responsibilities
- Plan donation recognition program
- Meet with potential donors to explain the benefits of involvement
- Attendance at periodic meetings on BCN
- Requirements/Skills:
- Excellent communications skills
- Sales background
- Understanding of the WWW, BCN and its contents
- Familiarity with the Colorado business community
- Full Internet access with e-mail capabilities
- grant writing experience
- Commitment: minimum 6 months
- Location: Calls and e-mail correspondence can be done anywhere. Meetings with donors will be around the county.
